Terms of Service
Last updated: [DATE — update before publishing]
This is a starter template. Have it reviewed by a lawyer before launch and update all bracketed placeholders.
1. The deal
By using Pizza Challenge you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the app. Pizza Challenge is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME].
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in certain EU countries).
- You're responsible for your account and anything that happens under it.
- One human, one account. No bots or automated submissions.
3. Community rules (the important bit)
Pizza Challenge is about pizza. You agree not to post, upload, or share:
- Content that isn't a pizza (or genuine pizza-related image).
- Hateful, harassing, violent, sexual, or otherwise unlawful content.
- Content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark.
- Spam, scams, affiliate links, or unsolicited promotion.
- Anything dangerous, misleading, or designed to exploit other users.
We enforce these rules. Report anything that breaks them using the report button on any post or comment. We aim to review reports within 24 hours and will remove content and, for repeat offenders, accounts at our discretion.
4. Content you submit
You keep ownership of the photos, captions, and comments you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and share your content within the Pizza Challenge app and on related marketing surfaces (for example, highlighting a weekly winner on our landing page or social media). This licence ends when you delete the content, except that we may retain backup copies for a reasonable period, and anonymised copies may remain to preserve other users' experience of past challenges.
5. What we can do
We can suspend or terminate your account, or remove content, if we reasonably believe you've broken these terms or the law, or if we need to protect the service or its users.
6. DMCA / copyright
If you believe content on Pizza Challenge infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the URL of the content, a description of the original work, your contact details, and a good-faith statement that you own the rights.
7. No warranty, limited liability
The service is provided "as is". We don't promise it'll be uninterrupted, error-free, or preserve your content forever. To the extent allowed by law, our liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past twelve months (which, since the app is free, is zero).
8. Changes to the service and to these terms
We may change features, pricing (if we ever add paid features), or these terms. For material changes to these terms we'll notify you in-app or by email where possible. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION]. Disputes go to the courts of [JURISDICTION].
